Handmade from clay to cup

Anyone who uses our cups saucers and bowls daily has noticed; the tableware is very strong. Equally striking are the patterns that are unique on each product. Why is that? We would like to give you a look behind the scenes.

Authentic production process

Bunzlau Castle’s tableware is made by hand. Each ceramic mold passes through at least 15 pairs of hands. First, the clay is dried in molds. Once the clay has hardened, the molds are removed and irregularities polished away. Each form is given the distinctive blue border. After this, the tableware goes into the oven and is baked at 1250 degrees Celsius. Then the tableware is decorated with small sponges. And details are applied with a brush. The tableware is glazed and baked again. This makes it extra strong. The shapes come out of the oven shiny.
